Filco Supermarkets discount tips

The Filco Supermarket Story

Filco Supermarkets, or Filco Foods as it’s known, started trading in 1946. It originally opened as a small convenience store in Llantwit Major, the owner was Phillip Jones. You could leave a shopping list and the goods would be packed and then delivered to your home. By 1964 it had moved premises and became a self-service store. It actually traded for a while under a Spar franchise. They opened several more stores and moved away from Spar. By 1998 the chain had become known as Filco Supermarkets. Today there are approximately a dozen of these stores across Wales.
