In 1991 Antonio and Priscilla Carluccio opened a food shop in London. Their aim was simple, to bring the best quality Italian food to the streets of the UK. It is said that they travelled the whole of Italy to find the best possible ingredients. The result was hand-made foods with hand-made labels and a quickly growing customer base. Eight years after they started in business they opened the Carluccio’s Caffè. It was their first authentic Italian restaurant and the start of many more. The business has grown, with restaurants across the UK. But, they all stay true to the same motto, ‘Minimum of Fuss, Maximum of flavour’.
In a testimony to the fact that all dishes are handmade on the premises, Carluccio’s is very clear that they cannot guarantee any cross-contamination. For example, all their products could contain nuts. They do recommend that if you have any allergy concerns you talk to them before you order. They can then assist you to ensure you can still enjoy the authentic Italian experience. They offer an extensive menu, including traditional eggs for breakfast, along with bread, porridge, and even granola and yoghurt. You’ll also find an impressive array of delicious pastries, including croissants and pain au chocolat. If you prefer, you can try some salmon or pancetta. The menu choice is excellent.
Each of the Carluccio's restaurants are designed to focus on the customer. You’ll find that there are private corners to enjoy the fine dining experience. Staff are always on hand to help but fade into the background when not needed. The main aim of the chain is to provide authentic Italian food at prices that are reasonable for everyday people. You can choose to study the menu, find a restaurant near you, or visit the online shop. Once you start browsing there are many different products to choose from. However, the best part is that you can purchase these products online Simply click the ‘Add’ tab and they’ll be in your basket, waiting for when you’re ready to pay.
The website also gives you the option to ‘book now’. This allows you to select a restaurant to eat in and add the specific details, including the time you want a table for, the date, and how many people. If you have any queries there’s a useful contact us section that directs you to the best form of contact. This is often the online email form, the response is usually rapid. There is also a useful email address if you prefer.
If you’re ordering from the Carluccio’s store then you can have your order delivered directly to your home. Standard delivery will cost you approximately £6 and can take up to five days to get to you. In contrast, there is a next day option for a couple more pounds. It should be noted that deliveries are only for food orders. At present, Carluccio’s doesn’t offer a delivery service for the dishes on the menu. You’ll have to go to a restaurant to enjoy this.
