The Crew Clothing company started trading in 1993. The idea was envisioned by Alistair Parker-Swift. He had spent a summer running a windsurfing school in Devon and realized there was a gap in the market for quality causal nautical clothing. He spent his spare time designing his first rugby shirts using local materials and sold his first items at Cowes Week Regatta.
