Freemans discount tips

The Freemans Story

In 1905 four people, including H.A. Freeman started the business Freemans & Co. The business was based in a terrace house in London and they sold clothes through a mail-order catalog. The catalog was published and distributed monthly and the original ones had only black and white photos. One of the most successful initial offerings was the cheap made to measure suits. This helped to make the business a success and the company took on commercial premises just one year later. By the 1930s it dominated the mail order industry in the UK and had to find even bigger premises. It then moved into additional lines, such as vacuum cleaners and washing machines. The business was bought by Sears in 1988 and its first interactive catalog was produced in 1994, it was sent to customers on a CD. Today, the business is owned by the German company Otto Versand.
