Flybe discount tips

The Flybe Story

Flybe flew their first flight in 1979 although at the time they were known as Jersey European Airways. This was the result of the merger of Intra Airways and Express Air Services. The merger was a success and the company did exceptionally well during the 1990s. By 200 it was renamed British European and this was changed to Flybe in 2002. In 2006 the airline purchased BA Connect and became the largest regional airline in Europe! The company has continued to perform well and is one of the best-known airlines in Europe. In 2019 Flybe was sold to a consortium. However, the subsequent global pandemic caused major issues for the airline which was forced into administration. Fortunately, the name was saved by Thyme Opco and relaunched in the Summer of 2021. Although they now offer fewer routes and run fewer planes, they are still one of the best budget airline choices.

Current Flight Offerings From Flybe Limited

Flybe still operates from 14 bases across the UK and offers an array of no thrills flights. This is one of the reasons they can keep the cost of flights so low. The company offers a wide variety of flights covering internal options such as Exeter to Edinburgh, and an array of European offerings. At present, Flybe is limiting the longer-haul flights but this is likely to change in the future as the airline rebuilds.
