Chain Reaction Cycles started trading in Northern Ireland in 1985. It was a simple bike store, opened with the help of a good business plan and a bank loan. At this stage, it was known as Ballynure Cycles. Needless to say, the investment was sound. Within four years the business was doing so well that they had to move to larger premises. This was built in 2004 and just four years later Chain Reaction Cycles created their own mountain bike race team. The company was bought by the private equity firm, Bridgepoint, in 2016 and this allowed them to join forces with Wiggle, a multi-sports retailer. The success story continues…
